Dear Janice, On behalf of Interfaith Hospitality Network of Essex County (IHN), I would like to thank the South Orange Rotary Club for responding to our back-to-school drive by donating new school supplies. We will provide these items to children in our network as they're heading back to school. As you can imagine, this makes a big difference for parents who are already burdened with financial responsibilities that are hard to meet. It's also a boost for children to be able attend school with the supplies they need. At IHN, besides helping families with emergency shelter, we also try to stick with them after they move to their own homes so they can become truly self-sufficient. A new program that we will be launching in September is after-school tutoring and enrichment activities for children five days a week. This not only helps the students with their academic work, but it also limits the expense of childcare for our working parents.
